Josh McManus
Master’s Level Counseling Intern
therapeutic approach
I take an integrative approach to counseling, blending neurological insights with honest authenticity to address the complexity of each person’s mental health journey. I draw on evidence-based frameworks that recognize how the brain, past experiences, and interpersonal dynamics all come together to shape the way we see ourselves and others. My theoretical orientation is grounded in a blend of narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic/Jungian psychology, allowing me to approach each client’s story from multiple perspectives and tailor therapy to their unique needs.
I strive to create a therapeutic environment defined by authenticity, genuine warmth, and humor, believing that the foundation of positive outcomes is a strong therapeutic relationship. My work is deeply hope-oriented, and I am committed to meeting clients in their darkest moments and walking alongside them as they navigate life's challenges. Above all, I hold the conviction that every person who enters the counseling room carries an untapped potential for a life that surpasses their highest expectations.
